Geoff Notkin - Star of "Meteorite Men" - Oct 12,2012

Geoff Notkin, star of the international hit TV series "Meteorite Men," which aired for three seasons on the Science Channel. Born in New York City in 1961 (age 51) and raised in London, Geoff now resides in his adopted hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Geoffrey is a science writer, television host, art director, photographer, publisher, meteorite expert, and global adventurist. He owns TWO successful businesses in Arizona: Aerolite Meteorites (one of the worlds foremost commercial meteorite companies), and an independent science publishing firm, Stanegate Press. Rock Star: Adventures of a Meteorite Man, is Geoffs eagerly-awaited personal memoir, chronicling his incredible adventures across four continents in search of elusive space rocks, his career as a rock n roll musician in the founding days of British punk rock, his childhood in an oppressive British public school, and his quest for meaning and understanding in a sometimes unexplainable universe. "Deaf Geoff," one of the bubblegum cards from the "Garbage Pail Kids" series popular during the 1980s, was based on Geoff Notkin. In addition, the minor planet 132904, discovered at Mount Palomar, was named "Notkin" and approved by the Minor Planet Center in recognition of Geoffreys contributions to science and education. Along with his own TV series, Geoff has appeared on the National Geographic channel, Discovery, PBS, the BBC, History Channel, A&E, the Travel Channel and more.
