Interfaith for Peace - A Recent Trip to Israel and Palestine

Guest: Rev. Jan Chase Rev. Jan Chase is the minister at Unity Truth Center in Pomona, California. Though we originally planned to talk about her work with Interfaith bullying in schools, her recent trip to Israel and Palestine is filled with everything from visiting the Church of the Beatitudes, near where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, to violent explosions while visiting the Dome of the Rock. When she described her trip to me, we knew that she needed to share this story of what is happening in Israel and Palestine today. There are efforts from so many, of different faiths, to bring peace amidst violence that can erupt at any moment. In California, Jan is committed to diversity and the community, She is a member of 6 local Interfaith groups and is also a part-time student at Claremont School of Theology/ and the Interfaith Claremont Lincoln University. Jan has formed interfaith partnerships with many religious leaders in the area, inviting them into community work within the school district, the mental health community and with the Department of Children and Family Services. Passionate about learning about other religions and bringing people together to build understanding and peace, she has been honored with several awards in the community.
