To the tune of "What You Wont Do For Love" - this is What You Dont Know Bout Bob :-D I guess youre wondering where hes been (sorry!)...Bobbys parents (Bob and Carolyn) were the hosts of one of the first musical variety programs on television called "Suppertime." Our multi-faceted guest was born in Manhattan but raised in Miami - and this is where he found his ticket for lifelong fame (especially in Japan, where he is known as "The King of AOR" - short for Album-Oriented Rock :) To gain access and momentum on R & B charts, Bobbys cover art/advertisements for his momentous debut in 1978 featured him in silhouette. Naturally, there were surprised faces when he showed up for gigs - everybody expected to see an African-American artist. Other fascinating facts about Bobby: regarding that debut, "What You Wont Do For Love" has been recorded or sampled by more than 100 artists - including Phyllis Hyman, Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. A sample of his "Open Your Eyes" was featured in Commons Grammy nominated "The Hit." Not only has Bobby played Frank Sinatra in a "Rat Pack" salute in Las Vegas (co-produced by David Cassidy!) - but he has had original compositions featured in several fims and TV projects - and his voice on standards has been requested as many times. The hits he wrote for other artists is noteworthy: Amy Grant and Pete Cetera, Boz Scaggs and Al Jarreau - among others. His latest CD, "House of Cards" (2012) features ALL of his music - and his playing, too. On guitar and bass.
